Concert Update and Ticket Deal
Well, AT&T finally got the internet working again, and I’m a bit behind on some things.
Like Live Nation making today a No-Fee sale day. Â It’s not every concert, but it’s a nice selection of cheap seats and “free” food, which is about a $10-$12 savings in itself.
But here are all the concerts hitting the area in the next week. Â And always remember that if you want to see all of the area’s concerts on one page, head over to the Regional Concert Guide.

Concert Series Begins On Campus
Apparently the college has decided to hold a concert series in the newly-christened Kremer Amphitheater this summer. Â Here’s the scoop directly from college.
June 29, 2009 — Marietta College kicks off the Kremer Amphitheatre Concert Series on Wednesday with a two-hour concert by the talented rhythm and blues artist Dav “Fathead” Davis.
“We invite the students, staff, faculty, their families and the Marietta community to this free outdoor concert in our new amphitheatre,” said David Travis, Director of Student Activities & Greek Life at Marietta College. “We had Dav ’Fathead’ Davis perform for our Coffee House Series during the academic year and he was probably the best musician I’ve heard in years.”
The Offices of Residence Life and Student Activities & Greek Life sponsor the Kremer Amphitheatre Concert Series.Â
Davis, who sings and plays the electric piano, will be accompanied by his band. The seasoned performer has been entertaining for more than three decades.
The concert will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Kremer Amphitheatre, which is located outside of the new Legacy Library. Travis said guests can bring blankets on which to sit and free sodas will be available to concert goers.
The second installment of the series features a performance by the Fleetwood Mac tribute band, Enchanted. That concert is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 29.
“We hope to draw enough of a crowd to these two concerts so we can expand the series next year to four performances,” Travis said.
Enchanted entertains throughout Ohio by playing a wide range of bands and singers from Evanescence to The Doobie Brothers and Pink to Journey. They are most known for their Fleetwood Mac tributes.Â
“Enchanted is also a very talented group of musicians and they really capture the sound of Fleetwood Mac,” Travis said.
In case of inclement weather for either performance, the concert venue will be changed to the Gathering Place, which is located on Marietta College’s campus at the corner of Butler and Seventh streets.

College Relations
It looks interesting, but it remains to be seen if the community will come, since the student body isn’t really around right now. Â But a good idea none-the-less. Â I’d like to see more things like this in the early Fall and late Spring.

Justice Coming to Marietta
Justice, a music duo from France, is coming to Marietta. I don’t know much about them, other than I do have one song from them, called “D.A.N.C.E.” It’s pretty good. They’re a club group, so be ready to dance if you go.
It’s Saturday night, starting at 8 PM. The night is co-sponsored by CUB and Charles Sumner Harrison Organization.
