Mideast Region – Day 2
Games are underway in the Mideast Region today. With the rain gone, game one was played, showing us that the underdogs are here to play. Rose-Hulman beat Heidelberg 12-2. Wooster and Concordia (Ill.) are currently playing, and Marietta will play the home team, Adrian College, at 4PM.

Rain, Rain, Go Away
All Mideast Region games were cancelled, so the games will be played tomorrow. I’m not sure if they will try to play first and second rounds tomorrow, or just push everything back a day.
Weather Looking Great for Tomorrow
For those of us driving back to Marietta tomorrow, the weather couldn’t be any better (well, I mean, it could be warmer, but better than 2 feet of snow like last year). Anyways, no chance of rain on 77, 70, 76, 90, or any Ohio/Pennsylvania highway. Temps will be in the mid 40′s for most of the day, but the high could get around the mid 50′s.
As always, drive safe.
Spring Break
Woo! We all made it to Spring Break ’09 (surprisingly). Sorry if things are kinda slow this week, as I am home and tending to a couple video projects that have been neglected. I will likely be using the Twitter feed more than anything, so you’ll see those pop up here (or you could go check out www.twitter.com/WriteontheMall ).
Enjoy the week all!
TORNADO WATCH, SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING IN EFFECT
Guys and gals, be careful tonight. Severe weather isn’t something that happens often in Marietta, but tonight is one of those rare instances where it is.
Primarily, there is a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING in effect until 6:45 PM for Washington County and all other surrounding counties. The storm front is packing winds of up to 70 MPH and is moving East at 55 MPH. The storm has a history of producing large, destructive hail. Please seek out a secure structure if currently outdoors.
There is also a HIGH WIND WARNING that was activated earlier today and will intensify overnight. The warning is through 6 AM Thursday morning.
There is also a TORNADO WATCH that has been issued until 9 PM tonight. Current conditions are favorable for the formation of a tornado if things all line up correctly. There is currently a violent cold front driving through the area, which could create rotation. If a funnel cloud is spotted, please find the lowest level of your building (preferably a basement) or a room without windows.

Dorm Networks Back Up
Good news for students, as it seems that the dorm networks have come back online sometime today. Let’s see if the seemingly random downtime goes away again.

Internet Down
Well, thanks to AT&T, I don’t have internet at my house. Looks like I will be blogging from the local Starbucks (on Arlington Rd. for those of you in the great white Northeast today). I’ll probably move over to a Panera later, so hopefully I’ll have some posts for you to read.
On a somewhat related note, it looks like the college lost power yesterday. They had to re-schedule a woman’s basketball game to tonight.
For now I leave you with a post I placed up on www.examiner.com a few minutes ago. Enjoy!

Book lists are up…finally…
I was just about to post that my guess was going to be January 2nd, but then I got a tip that the booklists came online sometime today.
Head over to the Marietta Bookstore Online to find out how much your Spring semester is going to make you pay…or at least give you a number to show how much money you saved.
I’ll have a more in-depth look at how to save money on books up tomorrow, but for now remember that Amazon.com and Half.com or Ebay will get you at least (if not more) than half off for most people.
